elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a witness of
Christ’s sufferings and one who will also share in the glory
to be revealed; Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under
your care, serving as overseers – not because you must,
because you are willing, as God wants you to be…being
examples to the flock.” 1 Peter 5:1-4
has called elders, shepherds, and overseers to give
oversight to the local body of believers. These are not
separate offices but descriptions of the task that must be
fulfilled to provide care for the body of believers. Care
and oversight is given so that we all together might be
conformed into the image of Christ and that we might all
fulfill our destiny as a priesthood of believers.
Grace Fellowship is served by Ken Kraft, Don Jessen, Floyd
Lien, Joseph Joiner, Michael Trowbrdiges, and Gregg Smith. The Eldership serves “to prepare the
body of Christ for works of service so that the body of
Christ may be built up until we all reach the unity in the
faith and the knowledge of the Son of god and become mature
attaining the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12).
Gregg Smith serves in the dual roles of Pastor, and Elder of
preaching and teaching.
